About the Museum

Members receive a free copy of The Peeler, which contains articles aimed at those interested in the history of the Metropolitan Police.   We hold periodic meetings with talks about Metropolitan Police history.

There may also be opportunities to undertake interesting projects at the historic store, which will be designed to fit in with individual members' talents, time available, and particular interests.

We have a particular interest in recruiting volunteers for our Oral History Project - there is a need a) for police officers who would like to record their personal experiences of policing on London since World War II, and b) for those who would be willing to undertake some straightforward training and to conduct several such interviews, at mutually convenient times, in the period from Autumn 2008 onwards.   If you would like to find out more, please contact Dr Chris Alderman.
